We had a brilliant stay at Bedrock. It is by far the best equipped house we have ever stayed at. The little extras such as glad wrap, decent crockery and pots and pans as well as washing powder truly make it a 5 star property.

The views are amazing and it was hard to tear ourselves away to leave. The property is a great size for 2 families to share.

There were 9 of us (4 adults and 5 kids) and we found it very well set out.

We cannot recommend Bedrock highly enough as it is faultless in our opinion. A super location with
stunning views to the front and a beautiful backdrop of tree covered hills to the rear. Site photographs are in no way flattering while the house itself is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need.

To top it all Alex and Alexis, the owners, couldn’t have been more helpful or communicative, both before, during and after our stay there.

Our only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed for longer. Hopefully we will get to stay there again at some point in the future.

Celebrating my 60th birthday at Bedrock with my whole family, including our 2 dogs, was something I had looked forward to for months.

We arrived to find the house exactly as shown in the online photos – just perfect for a large group with everything you could hope for.

The view was absolutely amazing and has made me long for a house with such magnificent water and island views. It was lovely to be able to splash around in the pool and have a few competitive games of table tennis.

Within close proximity to everything we started our holiday with a trip to the Port Douglas markets and continued on for a dip at Mossman Gorge – a great day out. Our next days included a trip out to the outer Barrier Reef, white water rafting at Tully, the Kuranda sky rail and train and lastly jungle surfing and a river boat trip croc spotting. Pick ups from Palm Cove were very handy
and supplies could be quickly purchased from the nearby Coles store only 5 minutes drive from the house. There were numerous restaurants to pick from in Palm Cove so we were spoilt for choices when it came to eating out.

All this paled though, to our next experience. Two days before we were due to leave, our daughter in law suddenly went into labour (3 weeks early), giving birth to our first grandchild, a beautiful little girl, at Cairns hospital, 24 hours later! Amazing and somewhat stressful as, of course, we had nothing for the new arrival. Alex and Alexis came to the rescue. They were incredible, allowing us to stay on at Bedrock for a few extra days, supplying us with information as to where we could get baby supplies and equipment and arranging for a portacot with linen to be delivered to us. What gems! They made everything easy for us and I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation enough!

Well, the lovely bottle of sparkling wine they had left for us to celebrate my birthday ended up being opened for a different celebration altogether! If you are reading this review trying to decide whether or not to stay at Bedrock, all I can say is, if you do you won’t be disappointed. Your children will love it, your pets will love it and you will have the time of your life in beautiful accommodation. They have thought of everything. Thanks again Alex and Alexis and who knows maybe sometime in the future, I will be lucky enough to visit Bedrock again. Maybe on my 70th!
